Contributions to the lichen genus Crypthonia (Arthoniales) in India

Abstract

The lichen genus Crypthonia in India is represented by two species namely, Crypthonia albida (Fée) Frisch and G. Thor and Crypthonia palaeotropica Frisch and G. Thor. The taxonomic descriptions and diagnostic characteristics that distinguish these from allied species are discussed. Brief notes on geographic distribution, ecology, along with a world distribution map and key of all known species of Crypthonia are provided.
