An Updated Checklist of Lichens from Arunachal Pradesh, India

Abstract

Arunachal Pradesh is the largest state among northeastern states in India and within the Himalaya Biodiversity Hotspot. The state represents diverse landscapes and forest with wide range of
elevations. Over the years, numerous studies on the lichens have been undertaken in the state and checklists were published. However, these checklists remain incomplete due to exclusion of
few important publications from the region. In this communication, we present a comprehensive checklist of lichens from Arunachal Pradesh with 903 species belonging to 209 genera and 58
families. The study added 114 species to the previously known checklist of lichens from the state.
